3 Natural Remedies To Help Treat And Heal Your Skin Infection

Edward Payne

A skin infection can be painful and irritating, especially when you can't visit your doctor immediately for treatment. Here are three natural skin infection treatments you can use at home to provide treatment and relief.

Activated Charcoal Poultice

One helpful way to treat a skin infection and its associated pain is by creating a poultice made from activated charcoal, raw honey, and some tea tree oil to treat your infection. A mother recently used this to treat an infection on her son's leg caused by the virus, molluscum contagiosum. She noticed within a few days the infection had shrunk in size on her son's leg, and the infection was cleared up within several weeks.

Activated charcoal eliminates harmful bacteria when you apply it directly onto the infection, and it also draws toxins out of the wound. The raw honey turns the charcoal powder to paste and combines its antibacterial properties to further help eliminate the infection. Then, tea tree oil has many healthful properties, including antibacterial, antimicrobial, antiseptic, antiviral, fungicide, and cicatrisant, which is a property that helps a wound heal.

To create a poultice from activated charcoal, combine the charcoal powder with an amount of raw honey and a few drops of tea tree oil to create a thick paste that you can apply onto a bandage or gauze to apply directly onto your skin infection. Change out the bandage each day, when necessary and continue its application until your infection is healed. It is always a good idea to see your doctor if you don't see improvement with your skin infection in a couple days.

Baking Soda

Baking soda is beneficial for treating a skin infection, as it regulates the pH of your skin. You can use this ingredient, which you may have available in your kitchen, by adding it to water to soak your skin infection. Add one cup of baking soda into your warm bath water and soak in it for 20 minutes each day until your infection is healed.

You can also mix up some baking soda with water to create a paste to add onto a bandage or gauze. Adhere the bandage onto your infected skin every day, changing out the bandage with a fresh one covered with new baking soda paste, when necessary.

Apple Cider Vinegar

When you have a fungal skin infection associated with a rash, the area will appear red and raised, and it will cause itching and burning to your skin. Some types of fungal infection can include diaper rash, ringworm, fungal-eczema, and athlete's foot. A fungal skin infection can be simple to treat with apple cider vinegar at home, but be sure to see your doctor immediately if the infection moves to the subcutaneous layers below your skin, as it can become life-threatening.

Apple cider vinegar contains acetic acid to kill the fungus and is antimicrobial to help fight the skin infection and prevent it from spreading. Then, it also contains properties to help relieve any itching present in the infection. However, it is best to use raw, unfiltered, and organic apple cider vinegar for the best results.

There are several ways you can treat a fungal skin infection with apple cider vinegar. Apply some apple cider vinegar to a cotton ball and dab it onto a fungal infection several times a day until it clears up. If the apple cider vinegar irritates your skin, you can mix equal portions of the vinegar with water and apply it onto any areas of affected skin. Leave the mixture on your skin for 30 minutes, then dry off the area with a cloth.

Use these natural, herbal remedies to help treat and heal skin infections.

Understanding The Value Of Online Personal Training

Hello. Welcome to my site. I'm Vanessa Bulger. I have a newfound passion for online personal training after struggling for years with my weight and lack of muscle tone. I never believed I could be fit and strong before coming across personal trainers online. Instead, I simply believe the family ideology that we were big boned people who could not lose weight. Turns out, we simply didn't understand the mechanics of a good diet and exercise program. I followed my trainer's advice and, much to my surprise, slowly started to lose weight and gain strength. Today, I am fit, toned and couldn't be happier. I'd like to share information about the exciting online personal training industry with you through this site. I hope my information will inspire others to take control of their lives and improve their health with the help of a personal trainer. Thanks for visiting.
